A-ware is going to make cheese for FrieslandCampina

9 October 2019 - Wouter Baan - 4 comments

A-ware will produce mozzarella for FrieslandCampina from its new factory in Heerenveen.

Initially, A-ware would produce mozzarella from the factory in Heerenveen, which will be put into operation at the beginning of 2020, for the New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra. However, that collaboration ended before the start of production. The existing partnership between Fonterra and A-ware, for the purchase of whey and cream, will remain intact.

Strategic cooperation
This frees up space to use the production line to process FrieslandCampina member milk into mozzarella. FrieslandCampina considers the strategic collaboration with A-ware an important part of the new strategy to add value to milk.

Maybe a good thing......

A-Ware is without a contractor and FC without money! Everything can now continue and otherwise our dairies will also be located abroad!

Here perhaps also applies: "Was sich liebt das neckt sich".
This "cooperation" was born out of necessity and A-ware n**it Campina will listen again in due course. They never learn in Amersfoort and even donkeys never bump into the same stone twice. By the way: wouldn't Campina be collaborating with DMK? Is that over already??

Mozzarella is a bulk product and not a branded item and it never will be. So only for the lower end of the market and residual milk processing. The fact that this fits in with the new strategy to add value to milk is therefore a sign of a total lack of market knowledge.
