Farmers get zero on RIVM's claim

16 October 2019 - Anne Jan Doorn - 33 comments

About 3.000 farmers attended the farmers' protest at the RIVM on Wednesday morning, October 16, with their tractors. In addition, the access roads at Bilthoven were full of tractors. The RIVM has made no commitment and declares that it sees no reason to deviate from the current calculation models.

Hans Brug, the director of RIVM, addressed the farmers during the protest in Bilthoven. “RIVM makes calculations about nitrogen disposition in the Netherlands as carefully as possible. According to international standards, this is done with good models,” says Brug. Then Brug quickly disappeared from the stage, to the indignation of many farmers,

The farmers were of course not satisfied with the input from RIVM. Jan Cees Vogelaar, chairman of the Mesdag Dairy Fund, stated that nitrogen deposition is not measured at all, but is only calculated on the basis of models. He therefore stated that facts must first be on the table before policy can be made. According to him, under pressure from the protests, WUR and politicians are finally starting to admit that mistakes have been made.

Farmers are coming back
The farmers left for The Hague around half past eleven. But not without the threat to come back if RIVM does not improve its models. “We will continue to campaign until that is achieved. We want RIVM to apologize and come up with reliable measurement methods," said Jeroen van Maanen, dairy farmer in Zeewolde, on behalf of the Farmers Defense Force (FDF).

The farmers in Bilthoven were supported by a delegation of 12 Polish agricultural organizations. They took a stand in solidarity with the Dutch farmers. According to them, Dutch farmers set a good example for all European farmers.

This is in response to it Boerenbusiness article:

Super of those Poles, that's where our strength lies, namely acting jointly as much as possible with other countries such as Germany, Belgium, etc. If necessary, half of Europe flattened with actions at exactly the same time.
And now byoooorrrrrrrr..........................................

Measurements are all done by educated leftists, who will never admit a mistake, they make them aware.
Hello 16 October 2019
You can't convert (farmers') nitrogen into (industry/construction) nitrogen like that!!!!!

And measuring is knowing

Maxwell 16 October 2019
Great people I agree with your wishes for even better measurements.
Even more accurate measurements will CLEARLY show how much nitrogen farmers produce and force the government to take even tougher measures.
With your demand you are going to cut your own fingers for it will come out exactly how much you are emitting.
Stupid to demand that but good that you really want to show how much pollution you are causing. TOP action as well as forcing doors of Province House with brute force. It seems that peasant violence pays off????
Good job guys

Maxwell dream on. The standard will be equal to the German one. Problem over. If it is not under this cabinet, it is in power under FVD. Baudet will soon be the hero and CDA and VVD will be dismissed as blind when they lack vision and because of their weak knees. This paste and wet together with D33 and CU is untenable.

they should have left you in the stable in boxtel

maxwel what planet are you from
if it happens honestly, we as a livestock farmer will take measures, but this is the umpteenth rule that will be added to our account and it STOPS ONCE
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Maxwell, get rid of all that farmer's pollution and everyone will provide their own food and then we will let nature take its course in all her facets. And you know nature is cruel and selects hard, all clumsy fall prey. I wish you all the best in the green afterlife!

Hi, isn't it about time Organic Nitrogen, emitted by agriculture, was differentiated from "Synthetic" Nitrogen, emitted by industry.

the RIVM measuring points are positioned incorrectly above sewer wells, this was done deliberately.

In the meantime, of course, the farmers are angry with the wrong people. It is not Jesse Klaver or the PvdD who is in charge. It is not the body like RIVM that only measures.

It is CDA/VVD, who are also responsible for the law that is now causing so many problems. These are the parties that have been focusing on "bigger and more" for years, without taking into account the fact that our country is simply slightly more densely populated than Russia or the US.
Down to earth 16 October 2019
Guess what all those guys in Boxtel studied, a lot of environmental and law students who progress nicely to these kinds of institutions.

I am glad that nitrogen exists according to Mr Baudet. Has he already blamed the refugees for the emissions?
Maxwell 16 October 2019
Is D33 a political party?? The little brother of D66?? Exactly half.
Baudet is really a populist asshole. You bet he never spent a day working on a farm. He prefers to sip on a fat cigar with an expensive cognac in his large villa and philosophize about a Boreal Netherlands. The water (due to the rising sea level due to climate change) and the shit (due to the nitrogen problem) will soon be on his lips.

Just a simple calculation. There are 600000 flight movements at Schiphol. There are 110 million animals in the Netherlands. Of which 100 million chickens. † If I compare that, there are 184 chickens year round per flight movements. If I have to believe the RIVM, those 184 chickens emit 40 times as much nitrogen than 1 flight movements. I'm not academically educated but my common sense says this isn't right

That whole nitrogen problem is a complete hoax. What are those measuring instruments doing on top of sewers and stables? What kind of craziness is that? And then the measurements will be even higher according to that half-baked Maxwell? Go do something useful with your left-wing minority instead of being bored here with this complete nonsense and scaremongering. Don't fool a farmer. That seems very clear to me after today.

Jan Cees Vogelaar and Prof Hanekamp have been trying for years to find out about calculations and measurements from rivm, which has never happened before, we have to focus on this because it is a left-wing cesspool at rivm.
And a European standard for deposition then other countries will solve the problem for us

Does D33 commit farmers' democide?
adf 16 October 2019
Democide? Act normal

RIVM and TNO use the adage when writing reports: who pays decides. This also happened with the Catshuis fire, the Kevin Sweeney case, the Schiphol fire and the fireworks disaster in Enschede. The TNO reports are no good. Just google it and you'll know why. CEO of TNO is VVD member Paul de Krom. RIVM has also written unreliable reports about the environment. Reinout Woittiez was responsible for this. Later, this mustache bike became director of the NFI. This VVD member did not comply there too and received a kick in the ass. The OR was responsible for this.

At national level deviations of 30% and at area level from 70% to 100%, and that is what policy is currently based on. With these models, livestock and farms are wiped off the map, families are ruined and rights are taken away. You can't do this with your senses let alone your feelings.
quite rude 18 October 2019
We think we know how much emissions there are.
question, the ammonia nitrogen is relatively heavy and descends earlier (mostly in agricultural area) or not?
We may emit 45% of the N, but how much do we take, so we receive back on our land?
I believe we use about 55% of the surface in the Netherlands!!
what descends in village or city goes to sewage treatment! is often not covered and enough breathers along the way!!
we are millions more people or am I the only one with emissions through the 3 exits that we humans have??
we apparently know everything about animals, but about us humans there are few hard numbers regarding emissions!!

It is necessary that Dutch farmers and their advocates rediscover their moral compass and embrace stewardship (again).
Just like other sectors and companies, agriculture must be adhered to the principles of 'people, planet profit'
And just like other sectors, agriculture must change if it is to have a future in the Netherlands, Europe, and the world.

It is necessary for Maxwell to grow up and take responsibility, if necessary through the courtroom, but spreading so much nonsense here as nonsense must stop now
shoemakers 1 18 October 2019
maxwell is just a puppet paid by the government to trick the peasant revolt through lies, nobody falls for that anyway
shoemakers 1 18 October 2019
if maxwell and his friends have his way, farming will be wiped out
shoemakers 1 18 October 2019
and if it's different, PROVE IT WE WON'T STOP YOU, NOT ANYONE, but your nonsense is passed

but apparently on behalf of the government quite a part of the media has changed their minds, see Jensen34, IT LOOKS LIKE HOW TO WIN THE WAR, truth is not important, but the influence
