The supply of roughage products is relatively small, although the demand is not overwhelming. This means that the feed market will also be open this week balance stays. However, a change is visible in the price of meadow hay. This price will increase this week by €10 to €170 per tonne, free of charge. One of the reasons for this is the shortage of good quality versus the supply of lower quality.

Large price spread
This is also clear when we look at the price of silage maize the quality ensures a wide spread. Less than €60 per tonne is paid for slightly lower quality, while good quality product is sold for more than €70. This makes an average of €65 per tonne free at farm. This is slightly higher than last week. The reason for this increase is partly related to the shrinking supply of good quality, which causes the top end of the price range to rise.

The price for red fescue also increased this week to €150 per tonne, free of charge. This concerns product that is imported from France, so the price increase is caused by higher transport kilometers. The price of tall fescue remains at €130 per tonne free of charge this week and meadow meadow is still listed at €135 per tonne free of charge. The price for spent grains remains stable this week at €2,60 per percent dry matter.

Stability
The price of straw (both wheat and barley straw) remains stable this week at €105 per tonne free at the farm. This means that the price is at the same level for the fifth week. In addition, the graph below clearly shows that the price is much lower than last year in the same period. Then the price in week 45 came to €135 per tonne free at farm, a difference of no less than €30 per tonne free at farm.

The price of perennial ryegrass remains at €110 per tonne free at farm this week. Traders report that there is very little demand for this product. There is also not much demand for silage. The price of this product remains at €50 per tonne, free of charge.
