Finnish dairy processor Valio has set itself the goal of being carbon neutral by 2035, the company reported in a press release on Tuesday, December 2. It hopes in this way to contribute to the fight against climate change.
Valio will announce on Tuesday 3 December that it wants to be completely CO2035 neutral by 2. "With this objective, we want to contribute to the fight against climate change," Valio wrote in a press statement. "Instead of just compensating for emissions, we will eventually make major changes throughout our entire production chain." In concrete terms, this target means that, by 2035, emissions and reductions will be value must be in balance.
Organize training
To achieve the target by 2035, the Finnish dairy processor will organize several training courses at the affiliated dairy farms. "Our dairy farmers will then learn, among other things, how they can best achieve emission reductions. We will start next season and organize about 200 training sessions," the company writes.
In addition to organizing these training courses, the dairy has introduced the 'CARBO grass seed mix'. This mix should further improve the carbon-binding capacity of grasslands. "In addition, we want to use more biogas and we are switching to vegetable packaging," it concludes.
