With effect from 2020, Bel Leerdammer has introduced a combination supplement for dairy farmers who use both meadow grazing and vlog feed on their farm. So much for the positive news. The milk price for January is going down.
The approximately 500 dairy farmers affected by this will receive an additional allowance of €0,25 per 100 kilograms of milk, on top of the existing allowance for Vlog (€1) and grazing (€2). This creates a combination surcharge of €3,25 per 100 kilos. This is done to encourage dairy farmers to switch to both Vlog feed and grazing. "You can see it as a positive incentive," says Theodoor Bos of Bel Leerdammer.
Milk price down in January
Bel Leerdammer has reduced the basic milk price for January by €1,01 to €35,45 per 100 kilos. Including bonuses for grazing, sustainability and vlog, the milk price can rise to a maximum of €39,30 per 100 kilos. The prices are calculated based on the standard Dutch contents: 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein.
Bel Leerdammer's milk price has been on the rise since August to December. With that series of increases, the processor had risen to the top of the milk price comparator van Boerenbusiness. So some gas will be slowed down in January.
