As of mid-February, there are still no developments on the feed market that are causing a stir. The traders do indicate that trade is going well, supply and demand are in balance. Little to nothing is happening with the prices for the time being.
Straw prices remain stable at €100 per tonne, because supply and demand are well balanced. There is currently sufficient straw available and buyers are gratefully making use of it. If demand decreases somewhat, there is a chance that prices will respond. Meadow hay is also in sufficient supply with a corresponding demand, the price is again €160 per tonne this week.
Quality dependent
The prices of silage grass and silage maize still depend on the quality of the products. The demand for both feeds is good and they are therefore easy to sell. The silage price is on average €60 per tonne. The same applies to silage maize, which also has an average price of €70 this week. Historically that is high.
beer grain
Brewer's spent grain prices are again fluctuating this week between €2,50 per percent dry matter in the south and €2,65 in the north. Some traders indicate that in practice it is sometimes difficult to realize €2,50. Some traders even quote a price of €2,40. For that reason, the price will be adjusted this week to €2,55 on average.
The prices of meadow meadow, tall fescue, red fescue, perennial ryegrass and feed potatoes remain the same at €135, €130, €150, €110 and €50 per tonne respectively.
