Vreugdenhil lays floor under milk price

With 4,42% fat and 3,57% protein and an annual supply of 1 million kilos, the basic milk price stabilizes at €31,98 per 100 kilos. In the milk price comparator van Boerenbusiness in 2nd place, below Cono Kaasmakers and just above Bel Leerdammer. 

Including premiums for grazing and sustainability, the milk price can rise to a maximum of €34,08. 9 out of 10 suppliers participate in the sustainability program, Vreugdenhil korgeleden announced in its sustainability report. 

Almost €4 corona damage
In the four months before this, the milk powder producer implemented reductions totaling €3,96 per kilo. This can be seen as a consequence of the corona crisis that severely affected the European dairy market. After a sharp price drop in April, there was a strong recovery, but the DCA quotations for milk powder and cheese are not yet at pre-crisis levels.

The private storage scheme, the European Commission's market mechanism to prop up dairy prices, ended at the end of June. In total, approximately 20.000 tons of skimmed milk powder are stored. These volumes do not necessarily have to be an obstacle to a further recovery of milk powder prices, although the upward path is not yet in sight. The 67.000 tons of butter in storage will probably cause more pressure.
