Polish milk production in May amounted to 1.111 million kilos of milk, an increase of 1,8% compared to the same month last year. Compared to April, the milk supply has increased marginally and is approximately 0,5% higher. Compared to the 5-year average of 1.069 million kilos, May's milk supply is up 3,9%.

Germany stable
In Germany, dairy farmers produced 2.870 million kilos of milk in May. This means that the stable trend continues and the milk supply is slightly below the level of last year (2.874 million kilos) and also virtually equal to the 5-year average. In the first quarter, the milk supply was still well above 2019. The influences of the corona crisis are therefore making themselves felt.

Seasonal trend
In view of the seasonal trend, both Polish and German milk production peaked in May. Unlike in the Netherlands where supply had already reached its peak in March. For the coming month(s), it is expected that the milk supply from both countries will be lower, which is in line with the declining seasonal production in the Northern Hemisphere.
