Bel Leerdammer sends CEO away again

14 July 2020 - Wouter Baan - 1 reaction

Bel Leerdammer director Jos Kok has to resign from September. This brings more than 30 years of service to an end. The choice is striking, because predecessor Joost van der Hoogte recently had to leave the field.

According to Bel Leerdammer's official statement to its suppliers, the choice is a result of changes in the organizational structure, as a result of which the position of 'director of operations' will be cancelled. Kok can be seen as an old hand in the dairy industry who has worked for the dairy company for decades, including a number of years for the Portuguese branch.

May last year Kok succeeded Joost van der Hoogte as the person ultimately responsible for Bel Leerdammer Nederland. When he was appointed, he was seen as a perfect candidate due to his many years of experience within the company and the Dutch market, but his directorship did not last long.

"Top people in the dairy" with "years of experience within the company and the Dutch market"
are increasingly turning out to be handy guys, who could easily fill their pockets in a market limited by milk quota, but now, now that something is really demanded in an open market, they quickly fall for the basket.
