While the price of straw (both wheat and barley straw) last week was still flying in all directions, a suitable price level has now been found. The price has remained stable this week at €120 per tonne, free of charge, although it is reported that this is probably not the top end. After all, the supply is still very limited and is expected to remain so.

Waiting for new corn
The first new harvest of silage maize is expected in about 2 weeks, after which the first price indications will be released. It ensures that the feed market is cautious. It is difficult for traders to make a good prediction of price and quality, especially because old maize is still priced fairly high at the moment. The price for this product remains stable this week at €70 per tonne free at the farm, which is well above the 5-year average.

The price for meadow hay increased last week, but now remains at €190 per tonne, delivered to the farm. A higher price level is not in the offing for the time being. The quotation for perennial ryegrass remains at €120 per tonne free of charge, with supply and demand in good balance. The price for silage this week remains at €60 per tonne free at the farm.

Market in balance
Supply and demand are in balance when it comes to the spent grain market. It ensures that the price is stable: €2,70 per percent dry matter. The bottom of the price range has dropped slightly, to about €2,60 per percent dry matter. The price for feed potatoes also remains stable and is once again €40 per tonne free at the farm, with a lower end near €37,50 per tonne.

Prices for red fescue, tall fescue and meadow meadow remain stable at €140, €130 and €115 per tonne (free of charge) respectively. In addition, there is not very much demand for these products.
