After an increase in August, DOC Kaas is leaving the milk price unchanged for September.
The basic milk price remains the same at €31 per 100 kilos. This is calculated at 4,42% fat and 4,57% protein based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos. The underlying fat and protein price is €4,003 per kilo.
This means that the payout is well below the 5-year average and also below the level of September last year. Including bonuses for vlog, grazing and sustainability, the milk price can rise to a maximum of €34,25 per 100 kilos.

In milk price comparator from Boerenbusiness DOC Kaas scores slightly above the basic payment price that the Scandinavian dairy cooperative Arla uses for Dutch dairy farmers. This also remained unchanged in September. FrieslandCampina announced on Monday that it would lower the milk price for September and is taking into account lower reference prices due to an imbalance between supply and demand on the dairy market.
Stable milk price?
FrieslandCampina's expectations are somewhat striking. Although the prices of solid dairy products (such as butter, cheese and milk powder) remain at lower levels than before the corona crisis, reductions are not necessarily obvious, according to the trend that the DCA quotations outline. Based on the current dairy market, a stable milk price in the third quarter is most likely.
