The price of phosphate rights reached the highest level this year at the end of August. The price seemed to stabilize for a while, but this week the DCA quote still takes another step higher. What is going on?
Both demand and supply on the phosphate rights market have increased somewhat in recent weeks. This has to do with the fact that phosphate rights are temporarily non-transferable from the end of this week. The RVO will renew the forms and digital systems required for the transfer of phosphate rights. Transfer of phosphate rights is therefore not possible from September 18 to October 5.
Dairy farmers have therefore shown more interest in the trade of phosphate rights in recent weeks, according to the market. The average price of phosphate rights has risen by 50 cents this week, reaching €141,50. This exceeds this year's highest level, which was achieved at the end of August.
