Upward trend for Polish and German milk supply

Both the Polish and the German milk supply have started an upward trend. Both countries produced more milk in July than in June. Both countries also managed to increase their production compared to last year.

In the month of July, Polish dairy farmers managed to deliver approximately 1.079 million kilos of milk. Compared to the previous month, this is a small increase of 0,9%. Compared to the production of July 2019, an increase of almost 2,2% can be seen. In addition, the milk supply is also about 4,3% above the 5-year average of 1.035 million tons.

Germany
Germany is also showing an upward trend. The milk supply for July amounted to 2.797 million tons, which is 1,9% higher than the previous month. If we compare production with the level of July last year, it is 0,8% higher. The difference with the 5-year average of 2.775 million kilos is also a plus of approximately 0,8%.

For the month of July, the average milk price in Poland was €29,84, according to figures from the European Commission. The average price in Germany was higher, at €31,82. Both countries are therefore below the European average of €32,82.

In August the average price in Germany remained unchanged, in Poland the price increased to €30,23. The European average also increased and amounts to €32,91.
