FrieslandCampina: rumor is wrong, Keurentjes remains

15 October 2020 - Wouter Baan

Frans Keurentjes will not step down as chairman of the FrieslandCampina cooperative and the dairy group's Supervisory Board. A FrieslandCampina spokesperson strongly contradicts the rumors circulating in dairy farming. "These are patently incorrect."

Over the past 24 hours, there has been a stream of rumors via Whatsapp that Keurentjes would resign his gavel for private reasons. It was also reported that former ZLTO chairman Hans Huijbers was his intended successor. This in itself is remarkable, because Huijbers is not a member of the board of the FrieslandCampina cooperative.

The spokesperson therefore refers these rumors emphatically to the 'realm of fables' and adds that he does have a suspicion who the source of this story is.

Frans Keurentjes has been a board member since 2008 and chairman of the FrieslandCampina cooperative since December 2016. He was re-elected in 2018 and his current and last term will last until December 2022.
