DOC Kaas keeps the milk price stable in December for the third consecutive month in a row. With this mutation, the balance sheet for corona year 2020 can be drawn up.
Calculated at 4,42% fat, 3,57% protein and an annual supply of 1 million kilos, the basic milk price amounts to €32,07 per 100 kilos. Including premiums for vlog, sustainability and grazing, the payout price of DOC Cheese can amount to €35,42. The underlying fat and protein price is €4,136 per kilo.
On average, the basic milk price for 2020 is €32,07 per 100 kilos, compared to an average of €32,47 last year. This negative difference is related to the corona crisis that has gripped the dairy market. In itself not an insurmountable difference, but it must be kept in mind that 2019 was also not a top year in terms of milk prices.
Milk price comparator
With the stable price for December, it looks like DOC Cheese will be in the milk price comparator from Boerenbusiness ends the year in last place. The cheese maker has held that position in the rankings for some time. Although a considerable number of processors have yet to announce the payment price for November and December, reductions are not imminent. Increased earlier this week FrieslandCampina still the guaranteed price for December with the idea that the reference companies would slightly increase the payment prices.
Looking at the dairy market, the stable price at DOC Cheese is more or less in line with this. Butter and milk powder prices have been largely stable in recent times. Cheese prices were under pressure at the start of the second corona wave, but now appear to have found a bottom.
