Following Arla and FrieslandCampina, A-ware has also reduced the milk price for January. The payout price of Bel Leerdammer will start the new year unchanged.
A-ware reduces the basic milk price by €1,15 to €31,97 per 100 kilos, calculated for an annual supply of 1 million kilos based on 4,42% fat and 3,57% protein. Dairy farmers who participate in the Albert Heijn concept see the payment price drop to €38,77 per 100 kilos. On New Year's Eve, DOC Kaas reduced the basic milk price for January by €0,09 to €31,98 per 100 kilos by slightly reducing the fat and protein price. Cono Kaasmakers keeps the basic milk price for December the same at €35,02.
Just like Arla and FrieslandCampina, A-ware and DOC Kaas seem to be anticipating a weaker dairy market, as is often the case in the first quarter of the year. And with the current lockdowns, sales to food service in particular leave much to be desired, although DCA's dairy quotations did not show any decline in the last weeks of 2020.
