Jaska de Bakker will leave FrieslandCampina this summer as CFO. Her place will be replaced by Hans Janssen, who comes over from construction company Heijmans.
De Bakker has been CFO at FrieslandCampina since the beginning of 2018, she took over this role from Hein Schumacher, who moved on to CEO. Before that, she led a business unit in Singapore for a year. De Bakker had not been employed by FrieslandCampina for very long, so her departure is quite unexpected. After her departure, De Bakker will focus on a number of supervisory directorships.
Upcoming CFO Janssen, who will take up office on 1 May, is an experienced hand in the field. For the past 3 years he was the financial man at Heijmans. Before that, he was CFO at healthcare provider Mediq for 9 years. Janssen is no stranger to the food business, he started his career at Unilever and held various (financial) positions in various countries for 17 years.
Challenging year
Janssen is starting a challenging year for FrieslandCampina. The cooperative dairy group is in fact implementing a major austerity plan that was initiated last year by CEO Schumacher and CFO De Bakker. As a result, 1.000 jobs will disappear and various locations will be closed.
Various business units will also be merged this year. The aim is to save €100 million annually. Cooperative chairman Frans Keurentjes is pleased with the arrival of Janssen, who according to him brings a lot of experience.
