Seed2Feed: lower costs with your own feed

15 January 2021

As an independent family business, KWS has acquired an important position in the breeding and production of seeds for maize, rye and fodder beet on the Northern European markets. To further increase the value already offered to livestock farmers, a strategy called Seed2Feed has now been launched that optimizes both plant cultivation and animal nutrition. With the right crop choice in the fields, the basis is laid for the feed ration and vice versa.

The Seed2Feed concept enables you as a livestock farmer to optimize the growth and production of plants and animals in an economical and sustainable way by providing knowledge, advice, online management tools and seeds of the best varieties.

What is the added value for you?
It is well known that feed costs are a significant part of the total costs on a livestock farm. That is why it is important to look for opportunities to lower it and seize it with both hands. Dairy farms should aim for feed costs of 10 cents per liter of milk in combination with a high milk production in order to achieve the highest possible balance from milk. With the most modern digital management tools you are able to manage crop cultivation and rationing even better and your own specific business situation is taken into account.

Important here is the support of a team of KWS Seed2Feed advisors who, if necessary, provide you with advice and guidance to achieve the best possible results. With the help of the new and innovative Seed2Feed concept, the feed ration and cultivation of forage crops can be managed and optimized by itself and with the support of the advisors. The ultimate aim of this is to achieve the highest possible labor income from milk!
