French milk supply equal to previous years
Milk production in France in December is at a comparable level to previous years. This is evident from the new figures from the European Commission. Compared to the month of November, as usual, a significant plus is visible.

In the month of December, French milk processors collected 2.066.620 tons of milk. This is an increase of approximately 6,6% compared to the previous month. In November, the milk supply amounted to 1,93 million tons. The milk supply figure for December is virtually the same as in previous years. In December 2019, production was 2,09 million tons, a difference of 1,3%. In the previous year the figure was even the same (2,06 million tons).
Expectation
If we look at the seasonal trend of the French milk supply, it is expected that milk production will increase slightly further next month, followed by a sharp decline in February. However, the milk supply figures for the month of January are always a lot further apart. So it remains to be seen whether the figures are still in line with 2019.
