Bel almost drops out of top 3 in Milk price comparator
Royal Bel Leerdammer is once again leaving the milk price unchanged for March. The dairy group is losing ground in the Boerenbusiness milk price comparator.

For March, Bel Leerdammer's payout price again moves sideways. It is the 6th month in a row without price changes. This means that the basic milk price in the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator remains at €34,48. This is based on an annual supply of 1 million kilos based on 4,42% fat and 3,57%. The maximum milk price, including bonuses, remains unchanged at €37,98.
It is not the first time that Bel Leerdammer has kept the milk price stable for such a long period. In the summer of 2019, the milk price also moved sideways for a long time.
Lost ground
Even though the milk price is not falling, Bel Leerdammer is losing ground in the milk price comparator. This is because competitor FrieslandCampina increased the milk price for March and now charges the same basic milk price. For the time being, Bel is in the top 3 with the basic milk price. However, Cono increased the milk price for February and is still only €0,04 below Bel's basic milk price.
In terms of maximum milk price, Bel Leerdammer still shares 3rd place with FrieslandCampina, but Vreugenhil has yet to announce the milk price and used an equal price in January. If Vreugdenhil raises, Bel Leerdammer will be expelled from the top 3.
