The total milk supply for March is 1,21 million tons. The milk supply is increasing again compared to the previous month. In February, 1,08 million tons were produced. This is partly due to the slowly improving weather conditions.

Nevertheless, the production volume is still below last year's level. The difference is becoming smaller. While a negative difference of 5,6% was noted last month, the difference for March is only 0,7%. The average daily production was just over 39.000 tons.

Fat production recovers
Fat production has also recovered nicely compared to the previous month. In February, fat production was still below last year's level, but in March, at 55.515 tons, fat production is again 0,5% above last year's level. The fat percentage has also increased, from 4,52% last year to 4,57% this year.

Changeable weather
Now that seasonal better weather conditions are approaching, it is expected that production will increase further. However, the weather is not yet a stable factor, we are still experiencing cold days and snowfall in the country. However, milk prices are on the rise and this may stimulate an increasing milk supply.
