The United Kingdom (UK) achieved another record milk production in April. Also in March, the milk supply to the processors of the British was considerably higher than the year before. The supply in April exceeds expectations.
British milk production last month amounted to 1.397.030 tonnes of milk, an increase of 2,5% compared to 1.363.500 tonnes of milk in April of 2020. This is a new record for the United Kingdom and the dairy sector also seems in this month of May on the way to another peak production. Despite the fact that British dairy farmers also have the challenge of maintaining a top production in relatively cooler weeks compared to recent years.
At the beginning of April, it even seemed that milk production was a lot higher, reports market agency ADHB. This was due to the 7-day milk production being more than 1,2% above expectations at the start of the month. Finally, during the month, milk production came more in line with expectations. Milk production will eventually be 0,2% higher than the analysts had foreseen for April 2021.
