June 22, 2021 - Chanti Oussoren

Scandinavian dairy company Arla Foods has signed a deal with Northern Ireland dairy company Dale Farm. This concerns the supply of whey powder for processing in baby food.

Arla has reached an agreement with Dale Farm, the dairy processor in Northern Ireland. The dairy group will supply Arla with whey powder, which the Scandinavian dairy cooperative will use in the production of baby food, among other things. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

Dale Farm
Dale Farm is one of the largest dairy processors in Northern Ireland, with annual sales of around £500 million (over €580 million). Until now, the company has mainly focused on the production of sports nutrition. With the current step, Dale Farm wants to target the baby food market with the production of dairy ingredients such as whey powder.

Chris McAlinden, Group Operations Director for Dale Farm, said in a statement: "This partnership with Arla represents an excellent opportunity to expand our presence in the global whey protein market and add value to our business."
