FrieslandCampina lowers the milk price for July. It is the dairy group's first reduction this year. According to the dairy group, the decline is due to overestimated reference milk prices in the recent period.
FrieslandCampina's guaranteed price for July is €37,50 per 100 kilos. This is a decrease of €0,50 compared to the previous month. The guaranteed price applies to standard contents of 3,57% protein, 4,42% fat and 4,53% lactose, excluding VAT. The amounts apply to an average annual supply of 850.000 kg of milk. In June the guaranteed price increased by €0,50, but this decrease has canceled out this.
According to FrieslandCampina, the decline can be fully attributed to a downward correction as a result of reference milk prices that were estimated too high in the recent period. Without this correction, the milk price would have remained stable, according to the cooperative dairy producer.
