Following FrieslandCampina, Cono Kaasmakers raises the milk price for August. As a result, the North Holland cheese maker remains the top payer.
The Cono farmer has to rely on the allowances. The basic milk price for August increases in the Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator by €0,33 to €38,05 per 100 kilos with 4,42% fat, 3,57% protein and an annual supply of 1 million kilos. The price increase is due to an increase of €0,01 on the fat price (to €3,30 per kilo) and a slightly larger increase of €0,08 on the protein price (to €7,60). With the basic milk price, Cono is the highest payer in the Milk Price Comparator, just ahead of FrieslandCampina (€36,98) and DOC Kaas (€36,89).
At the maximum milk price, or the price including all possible surcharges and deductions, the Cono price in the Milk Price Comparator is €42,55. That is slightly less than the maximum milk price of A-ware (€42,76). But at Cono the highest milk price is for almost all members, while at Royal A-ware some of the members (the participants in Albert Heijn's Beter voor program) receive the maximum price.
