Global milk supply is increasing more gradually

Last year, the global milk supply increased by approximately 24 billion kilos. This year, IFCN experts expect growth to reach 19,4 billion kilos and next year to 20,8 billion kilos. That is good for successive growth of 2,4% and 2,5%.

In some Western European countries, milk sometimes seems less popular, but according to the IFCN, the global demand for milk continues to increase. The IFCN expects that China will also continue to attract milk in the coming years. This is in contrast to several dairy analysts who fear that China will now remain somewhat calmer after years of large purchases.

Despite the good demand, milk supply growth is expected to lag slightly behind. This is due to a combination of factors, such as ongoing logistics problems, rising costs at farm level and stricter environmental regulations in various milk-producing regions.
