After a strong period this spring, the French milk supply fell well below last year's level in July. The supply fluctuates considerably throughout the year: sometimes above spring levels, sometimes well below.
French processors delivered 1.973.910 tons of milk in July. That is about 39.000 tons less than in the same month last year, a decrease of almost 2%. In June, 0,7% more milk was supplied to French factories.
Production is at the 5-year average
The quantity produced in July this year corresponds to the 5-year averages. For France, this amounted to just under 1.980.000 tonnes in July, a fraction more than this year's 1.973.910 tonnes.
More milk money
Figures from research agency CLAL show that the average milk price paid in France was 2,2% higher in the first half of the year than in the same period last year. French livestock farmers received €35,31 per 100 kilos of milk.
