Farmel trumps Farm Dairy in the acquisition of Vecozuivel
Dairy trader and service provider Farmel takes a majority stake in Veco Zuivel. Both companies have announced this. With this step Farmel is giving competitor Farm Dairy the trump card.
The latter party announced in June that it wanted to take over Veco Zuivel. However, at the beginning of September, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) announced that the two intended cooperation partners were withdrawing their plans. Veco Zuivel reported that previously unforeseen difficulties had arisen during the mutual discussions. Farm Dairy meanwhile indicated that it would still like to talk further. These discussions now appear not to have yielded the desired result by Farm Dairy.
Farmel had been working with Veco Zuivel for some time and had dairy processed there. The company could possibly be left out if Veco and Farm Dairy merged. Farm Dairy wanted to use the Veco Zuivel lines more intensively. The company is located in Lelystad at the limit of possibilities, director Arend Bouwer indicated earlier.
Solid foundation for new milk flows
Farmel is also experiencing strong growth through en also needs more processing capacity.
