Fuite Veal takes over the Beernink slaughterhouse in Oldenzaal from the Beernink brothers. The slaughterhouse was put up for sale and the Fuite Groep agreed, according to a spokesperson for the Genemuider family business.
Fuite Veal already processes some of the calves from its own integration in its own deboning plant in Almere. Since the closure of the slaughterhouse in Tubbergen, the animals are slaughtered externally again, at the VanDrie Group. By purchasing the slaughterhouse in Oldenzaal the chain can be completely closed again and slaughter can also be started almost immediately.
The collaboration with VanDrie will continue after the takeover of the Beernink slaughterhouse. Up to 1.500 calves can be slaughtered weekly in Oldenzaal. Unlike the earlier slaughterhouse in Tubbergen, there are no problems with permits in Oldenzaal.
The Beernink slaughterhouse has so far slaughtered cattle, sheep and goats. The company characterizes itself as a medium-sized slaughterhouse. In terms of beef, the company mainly worked for rosé integration Veal Fine. He now has to look for another partner for the slaughter of the calves. However, it is expected that there is enough overcapacity at the calf slaughterhouses to find space for this.
