Modern digital techniques provide a lot of insight and can thus help to keep the processes on and around the dairy farm under control. With the Agrility platform, which we developed in-house, we are now also making this available for maize cultivation! Practical reports on growth, ripening and yield keep your maize cultivation under optimal control. Agrility will be available exclusively for growers of LG maize varieties from the 2022 growing season.
As the largest maize breeder in Europe, it is important for Limagrain (LG) that growers make optimal use of the potential of our high-quality sowing seeds. In addition to breeding, innovative seed treatments and knowledge sharing, we therefore focus on developing tools. With this form of crop support, we help maize growers to improve their crop yield and quality.
This is how it works:
Combined data
The program digital platform Agrility uses satellite images, weather stations, maize variety characteristics, historical and current soil data and calculation models. All this data is translated into practically applicable information for the maize grower. During the growing season, Agrility users receive frequent email reports on the growth, maturation and yield of their maize fields.
This allows them to make immediate adjustments with, for example, overseeding or additional sowing, sprinkling or fertilization. They also get a timely insight into the optimal chopping moment and the expected yield. After the harvest, they can get to work with site-specific soil improvement, because strips that are lagging behind in growth are precisely in the picture.
