The members of the Cono cooperative have appointed Gerben van Diepen as chairman. He is the successor of Evert Kremer. Van Diepen is a dairy farmer in Graft in North Holland.
The cooperative has announced this. Ommenaar Evert Kremer has been chairman of Cono since 2018 as the successor of the long-serving Klaas Sluis. Van Diepen is 43 years old and has a dairy farm with 75 dairy cows and 30 young stock. He brings a lot of managerial experience with him. Before joining Cono's general board in 2018, he was president of the youth college for three years. In addition, he was treasurer of the HAJK (Dutch Agricultural Youth Contact) and department manager of LTO Noord and the agricultural nature association Water, Land and Dijken.
Staying Leading
Van Diepen indicates that he wants to continue on the path in which Cono has become strong. "We have been working together for years to achieve a leading milk price for member dairy farmers. This will not change. I am extremely committed to working towards a future-proof cooperative. By being a frontrunner in the field of quality, sustainability and animal welfare and all capitalize on opportunities and create opportunities.”
Retiring chairman Kremer gives Van Diepen every confidence: "Gerben is broadly oriented and knows what is going on in the world. He is a true North Hollander with a clear opinion and strong insight into figures."
