Linda Verriet, chairman of the Pig Farming Producers Organization (POV), has been reappointed by the members of the POV for a period of four years. That happened yesterday (Monday, November 29) at the general members' meeting of the interest group.
Verriet took over the gavel from Ingrid Jansen in November 2018. Now that she has been reappointed for four years, she will also use this until at least 2025. No less than 99% of the members supported the appointment.
Working on appreciation and space
Verriet thanked the members for their broad support. She indicated that the past few years have been turbulent, but that she is proud every minute that she can represent the pig sector. "The POV has grown into a strong organization with broad support. POV is also a fully-fledged discussion partner for politicians, governments and parties in the chain." Verriet also pointed out that the sector deserves more appreciation and space within politics in The Hague as well as from other governments, and that it will continue to strive for this in the coming years. This so that pig farmers can continue to develop and make their companies stronger for the future.
