Arla further increases January price

Arla Foods is further increasing the advance milk price for January 2020 compared to December. Group-wide, one cent will be added. Dutch dairy farmers are slightly better off at the levels applicable here. Arla is the first to come up with a milk price for the new year.

The basic milk price is according to Boerenbusiness Dutch Milk price calculator to a level of €42,85 per 100 kilos. The maximum milk price is €45,47 per 100 kilos. With the lower fat and protein contents (4,2% and 3,4%) that Arla takes into account, the milk price amounts to €42,07 per 100 kilos on average. The organic milk price is now decreasing slightly. In the calculation of Boerenbusiness this price drops by €0,38 to €54,93 per 100 kilos.

Arla is the first in Northwest Europe to come up with a milk price for the new year. On January 1, 2022, Arla Foods will adjust its communication about the advance price. The aim is to more accurately reflect the amounts paid to members, which relate to the total milk pool, the company reports. Going forward, Arla Foods' advance price will include all additional surcharges and deductions paid to Arla dairy farmers if they represent more than 50% of Arla Foods' total milk pool.
