Spithoven: 'Dispute transactions with central government'

28 December 2021 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 3 comments

The Nitrogen Claim Foundation sharpens the legal knives against nitrogen measures by the national and provincial governments that are detrimental to farms. The foundation has made itself heard many times over the past year. John Spithoven, chairman of Nitrogen claim, reveals in the second part of the podcast series Nitrogen Dialogues that several cases are ongoing.

For example, a case against the government may start as early as January 2022. This has everything to do with unjustified government support for the purchase of land, Spithoven tells presenter Klaas van der Horst. Increasingly, there are also parallel interests with the 'green' action group Mobilization for the Environment (MOB), for example against Schiphol, the Amercentrale in Geertruidenberg and cocoa processor Olam.

Excellent Boerenbusiness, do you do serious journalism or do you go along with all the voting and every foundation that shouts something to polarize things and get a position of power? I hope the first! Both Vogelaar and Spithoven suffer from tunnel vision and are blind to social developments. Also talk to people who have a complete overview. Kind regards, Henkjan Otten

dear Henkjan Otten what is your overall vision and I think social developments have nothing to do with reality

What a striking comparison of those Otten! Tunnel vision is exactly what the Dutch government and the green lobby have been suffering from for years. All over the farmer's back! More spithovens and bird watchers should have their say!!! A farm emits nitrogen, but also absorbs it!! But that doesn't count! The farmer is the solution, not the problem.
