Organic supplier cooperative Eko-Holland raises the milk price for both regular organic milk and biodynamic milk by €1,00 per 100 kilos. At first sight, this means that the cooperative occupies an intermediate position between Arla and FrieslandCampina.
For January, Eko Holland pays an organic milk price of €54,00 per 100 kilos. The small group of biodynamic dairy farmers receives a milk price of €58,60 per 100 kilos. However, these prices apply to the old standard contents of 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein. If they were converted to the contents that FrieslandCampina works with - which are also used for Arla for comparisons - then Eko-Holland would pay the highest organic milk price in the Netherlands.
FrieslandCampina pays an organic milk price of €52,24 per 100 kilos for January, which is 17 cents more than was paid for December. Arla pays out a milk price of a maximum of €54,22 for the first month of the new year, 95 cents less than was paid in December. The Arla price also includes surcharges for logistics and buffer tank.
With these prices, the organic milk price seems to be escaping the malaise that is currently prevailing on the French market, for example. Prices are falling there due to an oversupply of organic milk. In the Netherlands, the development of the organic milk price is not keeping pace with the increase in the conventional milk price, but on average there is still a plus.
