Cono increases December advance by just under 1 euro

4 January 2022 - Klaas van der Horst

Cono Kaasmakers raises the advance price for December by just €1,00 to a basic price of €42,70. This means that it does not pay the highest milk price for this month. Even including allowances, Cono is not a frontrunner, but the cooperative is at the top on average over the entire year.

According to the Boerenbusiness Milk price comparator Cono will pay a maximum advance price including surcharges of €47,20 per 100 kilos for December. That is more than FrieslandCampina does. Also for North Holland and PlanetProof milk, but less than the maximum paid by A-ware.

On average over the entire year, Cono pays a basic advance milk price of €37,95 per 100 kilos. This puts the North Holland cooperative at the top in terms of payout. The maximum advance price over the entire year is €42,70 per 100 kilos. That is more than €2,00 per 100 kilos above FrieslandCampina's maximum advance price. It is 67 cents per 100 kilos less than the maximum price at Royal A-ware.

Almost everyone receives the maximum
The difference is that at Cono almost all farmers receive the maximum milk price, while at A-ware only the participants in the 'Better for' line receive the highest milk price.

Cono is also expected to pay a supplementary payment. Cono paid a supplementary payment of €2020 per 1,48 kilos for 100.
