Separating calf and cow no 'serious animal suffering'

4 January 2022 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

Stichting Dier & Recht cannot substantiate sufficiently that separating calf and cow causes serious animal suffering. This was ruled by the Amsterdam Court of Appeal on appeal. Counterparty Agractie is satisfied.

The appeal was filed by Dier&Recht against Agractie Nederland, after the foundation was previously unsuccessful in summary proceedings on August 23, 2021.

Agractie points out that this is now essentially the third time that Dier&Recht has been reprimanded for its anti-animal farming campaign.
After the first summary judgment ruling, the organization was also ruled against on most points by the Advertising Code Committee in a case brought by ZuivelNL.

Campaign against dairy continues

Dier & Recht finds the court's ruling incomprehensible and is considering proceedings on the merits. The organization is also extending in the meantime the campaign against dairy consumption. The posters about 'the animal suffering behind dairy' can be seen again from today in bus shelters and other public places in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Haarlem.
