Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods has acquired NutriDutch from Putten. This company, which made products for the food industry, went bankrupt at the end of 2021. With the new acquisition, Vreugdenhil wants to focus primarily on the production of high-quality nutritional products.
Examples include specialties based on milk, whey and vegetable raw materials. CEO Albert de Groot believes that the factory can also be useful for R&D activities, for developing new products for which installations elsewhere are not suitable. Once a product is ready, it can be scaled up elsewhere. De Groot is excited to get started with the factory. "It is a factory of modest size, which offers a nice addition
on our current portfolio and an expansion of our capacity." With the addition of the factory, Vreugdenhil can also meet customer demands that were previously not feasible due to its scale.
An acquisition price has not been disclosed. Despite the fact that the factory has fairly modern equipment, Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods wants to invest extra in the company in the near future, in order to further adapt it to its own wishes. With the takeover, a large part of NutriDutch's employees will be employed by Vreugdenhil. Whether the name NutriDutch will be retained is still a subject of study. The plan is to restart the factory as soon as possible.
As the selling party, curator Frank Aartsen says that Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods quickly emerged as the best candidate for the purchase of the company. According to him, there was great interest in the company: "Despite the specific nature of the factory, there was a lot of interest from market parties in acquiring the factory."
