Phosphate rights have continued to fall in price after the peak two weeks ago. Trade is still thin and the parties are hesitant.
After peaking almost two weeks ago at a level between €153 and €155 for 100% usable rights, the price has slowly fallen since then. Little trading took place last week and the parties were cautious. Although almost everyone describes the market as 'very calm', prices have taken a significant step back.
Buyers and sellers waiting
Both buyers and sellers are currently watching everything. Buyers may anticipate a further decline in prices and are therefore cautious with purchases. Parties that want to sell rights have seen sales prices drop significantly in just two weeks and do not always want to do business for even less money. The result is that there is little trading and the price has fallen somewhat further compared to last week.
The DCA quotation for Phosphate Rights amounts to €142,50 this week. That is €5,50 less than a week earlier.
