Arla Foods pays out a supplementary payment of €1,62 per 100 kilos over the past year, the company reports. This is €0,12 more than the minimum amount Arla had committed to. Converted to Dutch components, the supplementary payment amounts to a higher amount per 100 kilos.
Dairy company Arla is currently calculating the precise amounts per company, but with Dutch standard levels the additional payment would amount to around €1,75 per 100 kilos.
Since Arla calculates with standard contents of 4,2% fat and 3,4% protein, the amounts in the Dutch standard contents are always higher. For example, the just increased compensation for Vlog feed at the Dutch standard levels is also closer to €1,60 per kilo than to the €1,50 that Arla mentions for its own factory levels.
The high additional payment is very welcome for Arla's member dairy farmers. Compared to, for example, FrieslandCampina, the advance price lagged slightly behind, but the much higher subsequent payment largely compensates for this difference.
