Asians bid for dairy brand Friso

7 March 2022 - Wouter Baan

Friso's sales process seems to be moving faster. Bloomberg news agency reports that several parties have now bid for the baby powder brand of dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina. Friso is particularly good in the market in China.

Those involved report to Bloomberg that, among other things: Baring Private Equity Asia from india, Junlebao Dairy en Sequoia Capital China are among the candidates to bring in Friso. The sale process is said to have entered the second bidding round. FrieslandCampina is expected to raise around $2 billion with a sale. Bloomberg further reports that China Mengniu Dairy en the Chinese Yili Group have an interest.

The companies in question do not want to respond to the noises to the news agency. FrieslandCampina has previously announced that it is engaged in a strategic reconsideration regarding Frisobut don't want to say much more. Nevertheless, a sale does not appear to be an unrealistic scenario.
