The Dutch Agricultural Youth Contact (NAJK) is going to propagate the love of young farmers for their dairy cows. That is why they started the 'Farmers love Cows' campaign. This campaign consists of a TV and radio commercial and a landing page.
The NAJK thus responds to the increasing social interest in animal welfare, it reports. The start of the campaign coincides with the week without meat and dairy. The aim is to provide a good counterpoint to this, but with a positive approach.
With the NAJK campaign, young Dutch dairy farmers show what they do on their farm to make their cows as pleasant as possible. The close-knit community of dairy farmers learns from each other, according to the NAJK.
Learn from each other about well-being
''We learn a lot from each other when it comes to animal welfare. We like to visit each other on the farm and the trade media also pays a lot of attention to the welfare of the animals," says NAJK director Marije Klever. "For example, on my farm the cows can go outside if they can and inside if they want, and in the stable I have a brush with which they can brush their coat when it suits them."
The commercials can be seen and heard from today (March 7) on commercial and public channels. The campaign will initially last eight weeks and was created with the support of the Dutch Dairy Organization (NZO). It is not disclosed how much support the NZO provides.
