Polish livestock farmers supplied 1.078.660 tons of milk in January. That is almost 29.000 tons more than in the same month last year; then 1.050.000 tons of milk were produced. In short: an increase of 2,6%. This also means that growth is higher than in previous months. In the months of October, November and December, milk production increased by 6.000 tonnes, 9.000 tonnes and 15.000 tonnes respectively.

Compared to the five-year average, the growth in milk production is even higher. The average milk supply for January over the past five years is approximately 1.037.000 tons. This means that the supply in January 2022 is approximately 42.000 tonnes above the long-term average. In other words: a plus of 4%.

Polish-made liquid semi-finished products wanted
Dairy traders note that a lot of products are imported from Poland. Specifically, liquid semi-finished products such as cream and milk concentrate are mentioned.

The Polish milk supply has already recovered considerably - after the seasonal dip in November (968.000 tons). The extra production is in great demand in Western Europe. Dutch and German dairy farmers are faced with a tight supply. The growing Polish milk pool, in combination with seasonal increases, is therefore a welcome addition to the production plans of dairy farmers in our region.
