Lidl France buys dairy from 3 large groups
The French branch of supermarket chain Lidl has contracted about 460 million kilos of milk for the current year from Lactalis, Savencia and Sodiaal, French retail magazine Lineaires reported. Prices have been set of just over €40,00 per 100 litres.

Lactalis dairy farmers can achieve a milk price of €41,00 per 100 liters, just like the Sodiaal farmers, while at Savencia a maximum price can be achieved of €40,10 per 100 liters. These are maximum prices, including premiums. At Lactalis the premium part of the milk price is €2,50, at Savencia more than €4,00 and at Sodiaal €1,50.
Plus of €1,50 for dairy farmer
Compared to last year, dairy farmers have increased their prices by approximately €1,50 per 100 liters, the magazine reports. The price increase seems limited compared to market movements in dairy, but the French dairy market is very internally focused and is therefore slightly less affected by developments in the global dairy market.
