The trade in phosphate rights is very quiet at the moment. After a brief price rally at the beginning of last week, prices have since fallen somewhat.
Livestock farmers seem to have other priorities at the moment. There is little information about rights. During the short price peak at the beginning of last week, quite a few rights were traded for prices between €149 and €151 for 100% usable rights.
Agricultural work and uncertainty surrounding rights
Now that spring is in the air, intermediaries unanimously describe the market as very quiet. There was hardly any trading in recent days. Many livestock farmers have taken up work on the land and have little time for administrative matters. In addition, sellers are waiting for the skimming percentage to return to 10%.
The DCA quotation for phosphate rights this week amounts to €145 each with 100% usable rights. That is €1 lower than last Wednesday.
