Owner Lactalis becomes final boss again

23 March 2022 - Wouter Baan

Emmanuel Besnier (52), the owner of Lactalis, will again be responsible. The French dairy group opts for a new management structure, after CEO Philippe Palazzi had to pack his bags at the beginning of February.

Emmanuel Besnier is the grandson of André Besnier who founded Lactalis in October 1933. His current role is chairman of the board, but from 1 April he will become operationally responsible and thus assume the role of CEO. Thierry Clement is being put forward internally as the new operational director.

Lactalis has been the owner of the Dutch dairy concern Leerdammer since last year, which previously belonged to the Bel Group. This acquisition was made by former CEO Palazzi.
