Cono Kaasmakers will set a cash milk price for 2021 that will be higher than was paid for 2020. The supplementary payment is slightly lower than in that year, but the more expensive milk price more than compensated for this.
According to Cono, the total cash milk price amounted to €43,50 per 100 kilos. Of this, €42,15 consists of 'normal' milk money including premiums. On top of this there is a membership fee of €0,25 and a supplementary payment of €1,10. For comparison: a total of €40,03 was paid out last year. Of this amount, €38,55 consisted of milk money plus premiums, supplemented with €0,25 in membership fees and €1,23 in additional payments.
Slightly thicker milk
The average Cono member also supplied slightly 'thicker' milk last year than in 2020 (4,399% fat compared to 4,348% in 2020 and 3,576% protein compared to 3,572% a year earlier). In itself remarkable given the difficult harvest season last year, but this also resulted in slightly more milk money.
Of the €1,10 in additional payment, 50 cents has already been paid out as an advance. The remaining 60 cents, together with the 25 cents membership fee, will be paid out in the near future. In addition, Cono puts an amount of 25 cents per 100 kilos of milk into the company's reserves.
Above average milk price
Cono points out that the realized milk price is once again at an above-average level. The only other Dutch cooperative that has so far published the final result for 2021 is FrieslandCampina. It has set a cash milk price including additional payment of €39,23 per 100 kilos. DOC Kaas, part of DMK, has not yet determined a final milk price for 2021, but as a cooperative it seems that it will slightly exceed this.
