INITIO Bird Protect 'Next Generation' combines INITIO, which ensures smooth germination and juvenile development with a new bird protection product.
This agent gives a bitter taste to the seed and young plants, which prevents birds from picking it up. In addition, it is also safer for those who work with it because a less harmful seed treatment is used.
Research at the root of introduction
INITIO Bird Protect 'Next Generation' has been extensively and successfully tested on 250 trial fields. The combination does not consist of crop protection agents, but of substances that are absorbed by the plant and ensure a bitter taste of the seed and seedling. As a result, the birds ignore the seeds and seedlings.
Safer for those who work with it
INITIO Bird Protect 'Next Generation' is absolutely safe and user-friendly for the people who work with the maize seed, such as contractors. They are protected as much as possible because crop protection products are missing in INITIO Bird Protect 'Next Generation'.
Corn seed with new treatment
Anyone who has already ordered maize seed with the existing INITIO Bird Protect earlier this season will also receive it as usual. In addition, ten thousand bags of maize seed have already been provided with the new treatment.
Demo fields for broad introduction
At 25 locations in the Benelux, demo fields will be sown this season with maize varieties with only standard treatment, the current INITIO Bird Protect and the INITIO Bird Protect 'Next Generation' version. This way, growers can see the result with their own eyes in May and June.
