On 16 May, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency will open a one-off subsidy scheme for leaders in the calf supply chain. Companies that want to set up a pilot project to improve the health and sustainability of the chain are eligible for this.
RVO.nl invests for interested parties on May 12 a meeting in Lutten. An explanation of the scheme is also provided there. The meeting will take place at Erick Back, who says he is already working on it a maximum future-oriented company. The idea is that interested parties who want to work on a more future-oriented veal chain in Lutten also make contacts with other interested entrepreneurs.
Total subsidy €10 million
Collaboration with chain partners and a good project plan are important conditions for receiving a subsidy, says the government agency. The total budget for the projects is €10 million. The best project plans can receive between €75.000 and €1 million, per project.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality has repeatedly stated that it would like to see changes in Dutch veal calf farming. Increasing animal health, improving animal welfare and reducing animal transport are important points of attention.
