On average, the basic milk price for April was €48,23 per 100 kilos. Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods, as the highest payer, exceeded this by almost €3,00 per 100 kilos, while Arla remained almost €2,00 below that.

The largest increases were at the expense of Vreugdenhil and Leerdammer.

For comparison: last April the average basic milk price was €35,06 per 100 kilos.

Meadow milk price almost €50,00
The average meadow milk price in April remained just below €49,73 per 50,00 kilos at €100, but €1,83 more was paid than a month earlier. It is remarkable that FrieslandCampina is below the arithmetic average milk price for April with both the meadow milk price and the bare milk price. The weighted average milk price is therefore also slightly lower than stated here.

Despite the increases, FrieslandCampina remains slightly behind the pack.

The maximum milk price for April increased to an average of €51,95 per 100 kilos. Normally, the class with the maximum milk prices is a party for A-ware, Cono and FrieslandCampina, because they have the most surcharges.

Vreugdenhil breaks in
This time Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods breaks in. Not because this company is introducing an extra surcharge, but because the company has increased the milk price for April so much that it is 26 cents above FrieslandCampina's maximum without additional aids.

Arla is finding it difficult to compete in the (in itself quite small) category of top milk prices.
